The Kale Basic four panel cap was added to the capalog earlier this year.
It's a sibling cap to the Spinach Basic Cap, which has now been discontinued. Kale is a really versatile dark green that goes with a lot of other colours and is a good wardrobe staple.
Sos for the slightly corny green veg names, but it's just the first word association I think of when I look at this kind of dark green! Which is how I approach fabric colour naming, what does it remind me of. Takes me back to buying huge 60p bags of kale from brixton veg market 12 years ago. Those suckers lasted ages and were always fresh and sold by independent farmers. 60 fecking p. I also lived in a bedsit above a drunk guy called Tony, but that's another story. Also RIP fujiyama. Iykyk.
If you've caught me at a market in the last 6 months, you might have caught this one in real life too.
The kale basic panel cap is made in the same shape as the other four panel basic caps, with four panels & with it's distinctive square shaped crown and made from 100% cotton canvas and a short flat peak. The basic is a cap I recommend at markets when customers are looking for a bit more shape to the crown than the more rounder crown shaped panel cap, (which is more fitted to the head) and the basic is crown shape which balances out a more square jawline. Same goes for the fisher cap, if you prefer more volume in your cap, go for either of those too. But I always recommend trying them both, to see which you prefer.
Disclaimer, face shape is something that is discussed in millinery, where I originally trained quite a lot and I've always disagreed with it to an extent. I do not think any of us should be judging our own bodies on shapes. I'm more on the each to their own and look for what works for you, what do you creatively think is your style and what are you drawn to pattern, texture and colour hue wise. However I am always supportive of following your instincts and it's ok to be aware of insecurities and look for what makes YOU comfortable, because we should all feel comfortable in what we wear.
